2021 Scholarships awarded at August Meeting.

Even though the Herb Guild was unable to sponsor our annual scholarship luncheon, we were still able to award two scholarships from our scholarship fund. We thank everyone who has supported us in the past to make this possible.

The Herb Guild wishes both Sean and Alex much success in the pursuits of their careers.

From right to left: Sean Ward, an Ignatius High School graduate is awarded a scholarship by President Shirley Swindell and the Scholarship Committee chairs; Karol Polkinghorn and Mary Kay Filipiak. Sean will attend Michigan State University with a major in Biology and Botany.

Alex Pruchniki, an Avon High School graduate and Lorain County JVS student, was unable to attend the meeting but sends a video for us to hear him respond to receiving a scholarship. Alex will attend the Culinary Institute in Michigan with a major in Culinary Arts, Food and Beverage Management and a minor to be a Culinary Instructor.

We value your patronage and support over the last 35 year. Thank you.

April 1, 2020

Dear Herb Guild Members,

It is with great disappointment and sadness that we inform you that we, along with

the other Board members, have decided to cancel the August 5th Scholarship Luncheon

at La Centre.  Considering all the factors of our country now and in the near future, it is the best decision. We will postpone the luncheon until August 4, 2021.  We want to thank all of you that have been involved so far and ask you to “store your thoughts for the next year. La Centre has been most cooperative in letting us postpone our luncheon and reschedule it for 2021.

We hope and pray the you are all well and that you can “hang tight” as we move through the next days and months. Have a Blessed Easter.

Love to all,  Anita Marshall and Kathy McClement
