The Herb Guild Scholarship

Purpose
To further the knowledge and use of herbs and contribute the results to the study of horticulture, forestry, agriculture, environmental science, botany and landscaping.

Eligibility
Persons with a proposed program of academic study in accordance with the above stated purpose are eligible.

Restrictions
1.  A scholarship is not given for financial aid to individuals.
2.  Practical consideration requires that scholarships to awarded to high school students who attend high school in those communities, which are represented through The Herb Guild members.

Application must be received at the above address no later than April 1, to be considered for the correct year.

Application will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee.  Decisions of the Committee are final.
The annual scholarship monies may be split and more than one scholarship offered if the Committee deems more than one applicant qualifies.

No Scholarship monies need to be awarded in any given year.

Announcement of the scholarship recipients will be made not later than May 1st of the current year.

Terms
Each recipient of the scholarship monies will be required to advise The Herb Guild scholarship Chair person within eight days in writing, that they have received such monies.

After completing the first academic school year, each recipient is expected to inform The Herb Guild Scholarship Committee, in writing by August 1, 2013 of their accomplishment in their chosen field

The Herb Guild is not medically oriented.  No advice on the medicinal use of herbs shall be disseminated.
